The integration of label printing capabilities within mobile platforms, especially for businesses dealing with tangible products like jewelry, is greatly simplifying inventory management and sales operations. Typically, small-scale jewelry retailers operate from compact premises that may not accommodate large-scale point-of-sale systems. This functionality, particularly when offered through apps that support Zebra printers (such as VUNPOS) presents a host of advantages.
Connect to your Zebra printer
At VUNPOS, we've made it incredibly straightforward to connect your Zebra printer (USB or Bluetooth) for Android (iOS support is coming). Instructions are provided below:
- Check that your printer is ON and has label in it (also ribbon for thermal printer)
- Open VUNPOS mobile application. Go to Settings -> Label Printer. It will ask your permission to enable Bluetooth and Location. Note: We do not utilize location, it is a standard protocol dictated by Android's system policies ( see here)
- If you have only USB (non Bluetooth) printer, connect the device to your smartphone using the appropriate cable and adaptor, then select the USB icon in the application's header. Congratulations! ✨ Now you should see your printer on the screen (Figure 2). You can skip other steps.
- For Bluetooth printer tap to Bluetooth icon, then search for your Zebra device. It may not be explicitly named as Zebra, you can find your printer serial ID and refer to that as device name. Tap to zebra device and wait till it connects. Then you should see your printer settings and it is ready for use ✨ (Figure 2)
Customize your label from your mobile app
With the ability to set predefined texts such as Text1 and Text2 and adjust font sizes, businesses can customize labels to fit their needs. The use of dynamic placeholders like {name}, {price} and {weight} ensures that each label is automatically populated with the relevant product information(Figure 2), enhancing accuracy and efficiency, especially for jewelry.
